Homeless 'Twas the Night Before Christmas - Denver voice

Monday, December 23, 2013

Since learning of the Denver Voice a few years ago I have been a supporter of the work they are do and the vendors doing it.  For those of you unaware of the Denver Voice, it is a monthly paper established to address the problem of homelessness in our city.  The following is the mission statement of the Denver Voice copied from their website......

Mission Statement To facilitate a dialogue addressing the roots of homelessness by telling stories of people whose lives are impacted by poverty and homelessness and to offer economic, educational and empowerment opportunities for the impoverished community.

The vendors on the street provide the pa ...Continue Reading 'Homeless 'Twas the Night Before Christmas - Denver voice'

Market Updates

Friday, March 8, 2013

Check out the latest market info as shared by Real Estate Revolution's Keith Archer:

"As you all undoubtedly know, the look of downtown Denver is changing.  The renovation of Union Station along with a number of new office buildings and rental high-rise properties going up are all contributing to an improving real estate market.   We are rapidly facing a housing shortage in Downtown Denver, as we’ve seen a substantial reduction in the number of active listings over the past year.   Right now, there are only 133 Active listings in the Downtown Denver Condo designation of the MLS wh ...Continue Reading 'Market Updates'

Delgany Apartment Update

Wednesday, January 9, 2013

While visiting our downtown office this weekend at 1401 Wewatta Street, I was quite amazed how much structural work had been accomplished on the Delgany Apartment site.  For those of you who are unfamiliar with this project, construction has been progressing forward on a luxury apartment building next to our office at Waterside Lofts.  For the past several months, we have been watching not only the construction of a new building, but also the demolishon of the previous brick buildings that formerly occupied the lot.  Although the work seems endless, great strides have been made over the past few weeks at firming up the foundation of the upcoming structure!

We are ex ...Continue Reading 'Delgany Apartment Update'

Why Denver?

Friday, November 30, 2012

As I have been visiting with several recent "Denver transplants,"  I have been noticing a growing theme behind their motivation to move here.  The most common thread between all of these individuals is....Denver is a great city! Aside from relocating for work, more and more people are choosing to relocate to Denver because of its exceptional sunny weather, outdoor recreation, central location and vibrant cultural scene.

With one of the strongest real estate economies in the nation, Denver also continues to offer new and exciting housing options which can be found in new apartment communities, luxurious new loft projects and stunning residential communities along the Fron ...Continue Reading 'Why Denver?'

Having An Edge in a Competitive Rental Market

Saturday, November 10, 2012

On October 29, 2012, the Denver Business Journal reported that Denver rental vacancies were at a 12 year low at just 4.3 percent.  With growing job opportunities, a progressive economy and a vibrant downtown lifestyle, more and more individuals are choosing to relocate to the Denver metro area.  All of these factors are making it increasingly difficult to find and lock in rental housing options.

If you are considering renting a home or an apartment in Denver, please keep a few pointers in mind.  First, be prepared to act immediately once you locate a rental that suits you.  The old addage "here today and gone tomorrow" could not be more appropriat ...Continue Reading 'Having An Edge in a Competitive Rental Market'

Monday, October 29, 2012

Although there have been recent statistic and reports that show the housing market is doing well in Denver, the strength of the luxury market should not be forgotten in the metro-Denver area. To Buy...Or To Rent In Denver?

Tuesday, October 9, 2012

In a recent study by the real estate listing site Zillow, it has emerged that buying is now a more cost-effective option in the majority of city and metro areas in the country. This is especially true of large markets such as Las Vegas, Chicago, Miami, Dallas and of course Denver.

Although it was found that renting was still a better decision in certain areas such as Honolulu, San Francisco and San Jose, it was found that in the majority (75 percent) of the 200 metro and 7,500 cities analyzed, buying was the better option.

The key thing to keep in mind is the break-even point of buying which is when the cost of renting is matched by ownership costs, taxes, fees and ...Continue Reading 'To Buy...Or To Rent In Denver?'
